Mumbai/IBNS: College students in India can test their knowledge about Alfred Nobel, the Nobel Prize and Nobel Laureates at this quiz contest with a first prize of rupees one lakh.

There would also be general questions around Swedish innovations, industries, history, society and culture.

Called the Sweden India Nobel Memorial Quiz (SINMQ), it is organized by the Embassy of Sweden in New Delhi along with the Consulate General of Sweden in Mumbai.

This year, with deference to the pandemic containment rules, the organizers have taken the contest online.

Registration for participation is open on www.swedeninindia.com for the quiz which goes live on November 20, 2020.

Semi-finals and Finals of the SINMQ will be held on December 7 and 9, respectively.

In 2020, the competition will be held between individuals as against the norm of three-member college teams since 2008.

Over and above the winner, top 100 students will also win exciting prizes, including exclusive merchandise.

Certificates will also be provided to the finalists, the organizers said.

The quiz is powered by Quizworks and curated by quizmaster Raj Dam.

The SINMQ has been conducted since 2008 as a part of the Sweden India Nobel Memorial Week, which is in its 13th year.

The Sweden India Nobel Memorial Week is organized by the Embassy of Sweden in New Delhi along with leading Swedish companies in India.

Instituted in memory of Swedish innovator, entrepreneur and philanthropist Alfred Nobel, it celebrates the contribution of Indian Nobel Laureates, as well.
