Kolkata/UNI: The much-awaited announcement of the Secondary and Higher Secondary examination schedules has been postponed and a committee to this effect was formed, according to a state education department source.

The exam schedules of the Madhyamik ( secondary) and higher secondary ( Uccha Madhyamik) were to be announced this afternoon by the state education board.

However, the announcement of the schedule for the day was postponed and an expert committee has been formed.

On Sunday, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had said the Higher Secondary Examination would be held at the end of July and Secondary exam will be in the second week of August.

Accordingly, the state education board on Tuesday announced that it will announce the examination schedules on Wednesday under the pandemic situation.

However, it was informed this morning that the announcement of the schedule is being postponed for the time being. According to the education department, an expert committee has been formed to decide on the examination.

The expert committee will report to the government within 72 hours on how to take the test in accordance with the Corona rules, if not, how to evaluate.

The expert committee includes members of the secondary board, top officials of the higher secondary parliament, doctors, psychologists, representatives of different NGOs of children and adolescents and chairperson of the state child rights protection commission.

The CBSE XII and ISC examinations were canceled on Tuesday keeping in mind the health and safety of the students.
