Arunachal Pradesh police launches ArunPol Mobile app and e-vigilance portal, enhancing e-governance in the state

The Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu, inaugurated the new initiatives, hailing them as a major leap towards e-governance within the state, reported The Arunachal Times.

Khandu commended the home, police, and vigilance departments for their innovative efforts and expressed pride in Arunachal Pradesh's commendable performance in e-governance.

The launch of ArunPol and e-Vigilance added another achievement to the state's growing list of technological advancements.

The ArunPol mobile app aims to streamline services and minimize the inconvenience faced by citizens when visiting police stations.

It offers various online services, including lodging lost reports, obtaining police clearance certificates, filing missing reports, verifying servants and tenants, reporting complaints related to women and children, registering complaints against the police, accessing rules and laws, and providing essential contact and helpline numbers.

The primary objective is to reduce unproductive hours for both citizens and police personnel.Notably, the app ensures anonymity for individuals lodging complaints or providing information, allowing them to maintain their privacy.

The Chief Minister suggested that senior officers explore opportunities to expand the app's offerings by identifying additional citizen-centric services for future inclusion.

In addition to the mobile app, the e-Vigilance portal was introduced to facilitate the issuance of e-Vigilance clearance certificates for government employees. These certificates are crucial for promotions and other related matters.

Khandu emphasized that the online issuance of vigilance clearance certificates would be a boon for government employees, eliminating the lengthy and cumbersome process previously involved.

He urged the Chief Secretary to onboard all remaining government departments onto the e-portal, as currently only 30 departments are part of it.

During the event, Khandu also unveiled the ArunPolSewa Vehicle, a dedicated vehicle aimed at raising community awareness on crime prevention, fire safety, women-centric policing, and anti-drug campaigns.

The vehicle is equipped with state-of-the-art features such as a smart TV panel, a generator set, a rain-protected audio system with a cordless PA system, and will be manned by trained police personnel. Its purpose is to foster a positive impact and instill confidence in the state police force while serving as a liaison between various police arms, including civil police, STF, and armed battalions.

Khandu reassured the state government's commitment to strengthening the police force and mentioned ongoing discussions with the Union Home Ministry to facilitate this process.

He highlighted the recent approval by the state cabinet to establish the Itanagar Range Police, which will be headed by a DIG level officer with three SPs (Superintendents of Police): SP Itanagar, SP Naharlagun, and SP Traffic.

Moreover, the creation of 310 posts for the Itanagar Range has already been sanctioned, with plans for an additional 700 posts in the future.

The launch event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Home Minister Bamang Felix, and senior officials from the state police, home, and vigilance departments.
