Apple TV embraces Google Cast—but there’s a catch for iPhone users

| @indiablooms | Dec 16, 2025, at 05:50 pm

Android users can now watch Apple TV content on their TV with the help of Google Cast support.

Google Cast is the only option on Android version of Apple TV and not on iOS version.

The Android version still doesn’t support AirPlay, reported The Verge.

The addition of Google Cast adds a core feature that’s been missing from the Android version of Apple’s streaming app since it launched earlier this year, the news portal reported.

The feature has been announced just a few weeks after Netflix dropped casting support from phones to most smart TVs.

If you’re not seeing an option to use Google Cast on your Android device, make sure you have the Apple TV app fully updated to version 2.2., The Verge reported.
