Apple Health app goes global! Redesigned version adds support for 11 languages

Tech major Apple has unveiled a redesigned Health app, expanding its language support to include global English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, French, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish and Vietnamese, bringing personalised health insights to millions of users worldwide.

Powered by Apple Intelligence, the revamped Health app dynamically analyses an individual's health metrics across iPhone and iPad, offering personalised insights to help users optimise their daily routines and gain a comprehensive understanding of their long-term wellbeing. Apple said the app is designed to protect users' health data securely and privately at every stage.

The redesigned experience introduces a new Insights tab, which provides timely and comprehensive summaries of health indicators, including heart health, sleep, readiness, fitness, vital signs and menstrual cycle tracking.

A dedicated For You section offers intelligent recommendations tailored to individual habits and health patterns. For instance, it can suggest practical adjustments to a user's bedtime routine following consecutive nights of interrupted sleep. The section also combines health data with educational content, including videos and articles featuring clinical experts.

To help users better understand their long-term health trends, Apple has introduced a new Longevity tab. It analyses health metrics over time across several areas, including cardiovascular health, sleep, mental wellbeing, physical activity, metabolic health, hearing and nutrition.

At the centre of this feature is Health Age, which uses data from Apple Watch, including VO2 max, resting heart rate, sleep patterns and heart rate variability, to provide an indication of how a user's body is ageing relative to their chronological age. Users can also incorporate clinical laboratory results, such as HbA1c and LDL cholesterol levels, to build a more comprehensive picture of their long-term health.

The update also introduces at-home movement assessments, allowing users to evaluate their physical capabilities without specialised equipment. Using an iPhone camera and Apple Watch, users can assess flexibility, strength, balance, movement mechanics and VO2 max, with real-time audio and visual feedback.

Developed in collaboration with clinical experts and powered by on-device, vision-based artificial intelligence models, the assessment experience runs entirely on the device. Apple said video footage is never recorded, stored or shared.

The redesigned Health app is currently available through the iOS 27.3 developer beta and is expected to roll out to users as a free software update later this year. Apple said it would continue expanding language support for the redesigned app.
