Guwahati/IBNS: Amid rising COVID-19 positive cases in Assam, Gauhati University is preparing to start regular classes from September 1.

The university authority on Friday issued a notice for resuming regular classes and examinations.

In the notice, the university authority said regular classes of Post Graduate (PG) 4th semester, Under Graduate (UG) 6th semester, LLB 6th semester, BALLB, BBALLAB and B.Com LLB 10th semester will be restarted from September 1.

“The examinations of Under Graduate courses will be started from September 22 and Post Graduate from September 25. All hostels will be reopened from September 1,” said in the notice of Gauhati University.

The Assam government closed all schools, colleges and universities in the state since March 15 to curb the spread of the novel Coronavirus.

Assam has witnessed a sharp spike in the number of COVID-19 cases with nearly 55,000 cases and 132 deaths due to the deadly virus infections.
