Kaziranga (Assam): A woman died after she was attacked by a wild buffalo near Agoratoli range in Assam's Kaziranga National Park on Thursday, officials said.

According to the park authorities, the wild buffalo had strayed away from the park.

The bovine attacked the woman while she was working in a paddy field.

Director of Kaziranga National Park Sonali Ghosh said the incident was unfortunate.

She added that the animal had wandered out of the park, which led to the death of the woman.

In October this year, a forest guard was also killed by a wild buffalo.

He was on patrol duty inside Assam’s Manas National Park.
