With 40 new cases, Nagaland COVID-19 tally surges to 956

Guwahati/IBNS: With 40 new cases, Nagaland has reported 956 positive cases for COVID-19.

Out of the new cases 39 cases have been reported from Dimapur while rest one reported from Peren.

Nagaland state Health department said that all the positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 hospitals and care centres.

Further, active surveillance and contact tracing are in progress to prevent further spreading of the infection.

Out of the 956 positive cases, the total active cases are 551, and 405 have recovered.

As per the severity of symptoms, 548 active cases are asymptomatic and 2 active cases are mild and 1 active case is moderate.

A total of 17,570 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR.

Results of 17,229 samples have been received and out of the 17,229 samples, a total of 10, 009 samples have been tested at the BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) and out of which 570 samples have tested positive.

At the BSL-2 lab at the CIHSR, Dimapur, a total of 2,451 samples have been processed and out of which 240 samples have tested positive.

A total of 11,727 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat.

10,880 samples have tested negative, and 349 samples have tested positive which have been sent for confirmation by RT-PCR.

A total of 2,922 persons are presently in quarantine facility.
