West Bengal reports highest single-day recovery of 518 COVID patients

Kolkata/IBNS: With 518 Covid-19 patients discharged after being cured from various hospitals across the state in last 24 hours, West Bengal on Sunday reported its highest single-day recovery of novel coronavirus patients, reports said.

According to a bulletin issued by the state health and family welfare department, 5060 Covid-19 patients have been discharged after treatment till date, taking the recovery rate in the state to 45.63 per cent.

The state bulletin said that with 389 new cases reported in the past 24 hours, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Bengal had reached 11087, including 5552 active cases, 475 deaths and 5060 discharges.

In the last 24 hours, 12 more deaths were reported in the state and 50 per cent of those were recorded in state capital Kolkata as six Covid-19 patients died in different city hospitals, the bulletin read.

West Bengal has tested 3,33,733 samples till date with 9026 tests being conducted in 45 testing facilities across the state in last 24 hours, reports said.

Presently, 14259 persons are kept in government quarantine centres and 1,57,923 people are under home surveillance in the state.
