Uttar Pradesh records 12,547 COVID-19 cases, 281 deaths

Lucknow/UNI: Uttar Pradesh recorded 12,547 COVID-19 cases and 281 deaths from the virus in the past 24 hours, a health bulletin said on Saturday.

With the new additions, the active cases have reached 1,77,643 while the death toll touched 17,238.

Lucknow reported 617 cases while 879 cases were recorded in Meerut and 801 in Gorakhpur.

In deaths,19 were recorded in Meerut, followed by 15 in Chandauli, 14 in Kanpur, 12 each in Lucknow and Auriyya and 10 in Gautam Buddha Nagar.

The recovery rate has reached 88 per cent.
