Punjab: Hoshiarpur reports highest single-day increase of 33 COVID cases

Hoshiarpur/UNI:  This Punjab district on Saturday registered 33 new cases of Novel Coronavirus, the highest number reported in a single day, ever since the detection of first case in the district.

With the detection of these cases, the number of patients infected with COVID-19 pandemic has increased to 44.

According to Civil Surgeon in Hoshiarpur Jasbir Singh, these patients were among those, who recently returned from Takht Sri Hazur Sahib, Nanded (Maharashtra). They had been isolated, said Dr Singh.

One person had lost his life to the dreaded virus, while five were cured and discharged, so far, the Civil Surgeon added.
