One UK returnee tests COVID-19 positive in Guwahati

Guwahati/IBNS: A traveller from the United Kingdom has been tested positive for COVID-19 at Guwahati airport.

Confirming the report Assam Health minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that, the UK returnee was tested COVID-19 positive and he has been admitted at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital.

The Assam government has already sent his swab to NIV, Pune for testing.

According to the state health department, a total of 102 persons have returned to Assam from the UK in the last 15 days and out of them, 72 are from Kamrup (Metro) district.
