Jaipur, Jan 16 (UNI) Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday said even after getting vaccinated, there is need to exercise caution to eradicate novel coronavirus.

During the launch of the vaccination drive, the Chief Minister said even after getting vaccinated, corona protocol has to be followed to break the chain of the virus.

The Congress leader said there should not be any apprehension about the vaccine, people should not worry as the dry runs have been conducted and it was declared safe.

''We all have been waiting for the coronavirus vaccine for long. Since the virus entered the district, the state government made all out efforts to contain it. Common man and corona warriors also helped in restricting the spread of the virus,'' Mr Gehlot said.

With the collective effort, the recovery rate in the state reached 97 percent and fatality rate less than one percent.

He thanked health workers, sanitation workers and common man for unitedly fighting the pandemic.

Mr Gehlot said Rajasthan was the first state in the country to impose lockdown to contain the spread of the pandemic.

He assured people that the state government is capable of tackling each and every situation.

State Health Minister Raghu Sharma said during the first phase, 4,80,977 health workers from state and over 6,000 from the Centre will be vaccinated.

The next dose will be administered to them after a gap of 28 days.

Seven crore people of the state will be vaccinated during various phases, Mr Sharma said.
