Modi launches nationwide HPV vaccine drive, calls it a game-changer for India’s daughters
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the nationwide HPV vaccination campaign from Ajmer, Rajasthan, describing it as a pivotal step toward empowering India’s ‘Nari Shakti’ (women power) and ensuring the health of mothers and daughters.
“We all know that when a mother falls ill, the entire household feels unsettled. When she is healthy, the family is better equipped to face every crisis. With this spirit, the government has launched several schemes to support and empower women,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said.
He outlined the government’s sensitive and mission-driven approach to women’s health and dignity, citing initiatives such as the large-scale construction of toilets, improved access to sanitary pads, and the Ujjwala Gas Scheme.
The Prime Minister also referred to the safe motherhood scheme, under which ₹5,000 is directly deposited into the bank accounts of expectant mothers to ensure proper nutrition during pregnancy — a shift, he said, from neglect to care and sensitivity.
Turning to infrastructure, Modi stated that modern connectivity through roads, railways, and air travel is transforming Rajasthan’s future.
He noted that improved connectivity has boosted tourism in destinations such as Ajmer and Pushkar, directly benefiting local businesses, artisans, and taxi operators.
“The infrastructure being developed under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor is turning Rajasthan into a land of opportunity for global investment,” Modi said.
