Kolkata's CMRI hospital observes 52nd foundation day

Kolkata/IBNS: CK Birla Group-run multi-speciality hospital in Kolkata, the Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI), on Monday observed its 52nd foundation day with some of its young as well as adult patients who had undergone complicated transplant procedure and other complex treatments successfully.

Senior physicians of the private health facility from different specializations, including Raja Dhar (Director and HOD, Pulmonology), Shyam Krishnan (Interventional Pulmonology), Arjun Dasgupta (Consultant- Rhinologist ENT and Endoscopic Skull- Based Surgeon), Pradeep Chakraborty (Head and Director of Renal Sciences), Rajeev Sinha (Paediatric Transplant Surgeon), and Rakesh Rajput (Director and HOD of Orthopaedics), were present on the occasion.

Sharing their opinions, the doctors said that "at the very core of a healthcare relationship lies trust."

Expressing his appreciation towards all doctors, nurses, paramedics and non-medical staff, CEO of CK Birla Hospitals, Simmardeep Gill, said, "We have been constantly working towards achieving clinical excellence and making a positive difference in the lives of our patients. Our doctors and other medical staff are always ensuring that each patient gets the best possible attention and medical care."

"We are striving towards achieving a complete digital health set-up and trying to incorporate better use of technology in healthcare," he added.

Director and HOD of Pulmonology department of the hospital, Raja Dhar, said all the physicians, and other medical and non-medical staff had done a "wonderful" job while dealing with the Covid patients during the first and second waves of the pandemic.

Few young and adult patients, who had undergone complicated transplant procedure and other complex treatments successfully at the facility, also shared their experience at the hospital during the foundation day event.

Doctors at CMRI, a 440-bedded hospital established in 1969 in Kolkata's Ekbalpore area, have performed over 250,000 surgeries and served over five million outpatients and 500,000 inpatients, while more than 10,000 international patients have been treated at the facility till date, according to the health facility's records.
