ISRO launches 'Young Scientist Programme' for school students

Hyderabad/UNI: Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has launched a special programme for School students called “Young Scientist Programme” “Yuva Vigyani Karyakram” from the year 2019.

The Program is primarily aimed at imparting basic knowledge on Space Technology,

Space Science and Space Applications to the younger ones was with the intent of arousing their interest in the emerging areas of Space activities, ISRO said in a release.

The residential training programme will be of around two weeks duration during summer holidays (May 2020) and it is proposed to select 3 students each from each State/ Union Territory to participate in it covering state, CBSE, and ICSE syllabus.

Students who are studying in 9th standard will be eligible for the programme and the selection will be based on the 8th Standard marks and extra-curricular activities.

The selection will be done through online registration.

The online registration through ISRO website www.isro.gov.in is up to February 14, 2020.
