India's COVID-19 death toll touches 33425

New Delhi: India's COVID-19 cases tally reached  14.83 lakh after 47,703 cases were recorded in a single day, Ministry of Health data unveiled on Tuesday.

The death toll due to the disease now stands at 33425 as 654 more deaths due to the highly infectious disease were recorded in a single day.

Of the total 1,483,156 cases, 496,988 are active while 952,743 people have recovered from the disease which is believed to have originated from China.

With effective containment strategy, aggressive testing and standardized clinical management protocols based on holistic Standard of Care approach, the COVID -19 Case Fatality Rate has significantly dipped in India, the Health Ministry said on Monday.

The Case Fatality Rate is progressively falling and currently, it is 2.28%.
