New Delhi/IBNS: After recording over 78,000 Covid-19 cases the last day, India on Saturday reported a dip in the daily number of infections while the overall tally is racing towards the 70-lakh mark.

Out of 11,64,018 samples which were tested in 24 hours between Friday and Saturday mornings, 73,272 resulted positively taking the Covid-19 tally to 69,79,424.

926 people, who were Covid-19 positive patients, died in the last 24 hours further increasing the toll to 1,07,416.

Though India is reporting the biggest spike in terms of daily cases in the world, the recovered number of cases once again on Saturday exceeded the positive ones reported in the last 24 hours.

With 82,753 people recovering from the deadly disease, the total number of people who have successfully fought the virus has touched 59,88,822.

However, 8,83,185 people are still battling the contagion across the country which is struggling to cope with the huge surge in cases with poor health infrastructure.
