New Delhi/IBNS: With a fresh jump of 41,100 cases in the last 24 hours, India's coronavirus count has touched 88.14 lakh, the Union Health Minister said in a bulletin on Sunday.

Around 447 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, which has pushed the total Covid-related fatality count to 1,29,635.

A total of 82,05,728 people have recovered in India since the deadly contagion broke in March, taking the recovery rate to 93.09 per cent.

The total number of active cases in the country stands at 4,79,216 presently.

More than 53 million have been infected worldwide by Covid-19, which hit the US most, forcing several country heads to take more drastic action despite the potential economic devastation.

India is the second worst-hit country worldwide.
