India reports 9,119 COVID-19 cases in 24 hours

New Delhi/IBNS: India reported 9,119 COVID-19 cases while the toll went up by 396 in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry stated on Thursday.

In the same period of time, 10,264 COVID-19 patients have recovered.

The recovery rate has further increased to 98.33%, the highest since Mar 2020.

In a fight against the pandemic, 119.38 crore anti-COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered so far in the country.

Meanwhile, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) director Dr. Randeep Guleria said a huge COVID-19 third wave is unlikely in the country, which was devastated by the second wave of the virus in early 2021.

Dr. Guleria also said a booster dose of vaccine is not needed at the present moment.
