India adds over 63,000 Covid-19 cases in 24 hours, stares at big spike amid festive season

New Delhi/IBNS: With few days ahead of the kickstarting of the festive season, India on Friday added over 63,000 Covid-19 cases taking the tally of infections to 73,70,468.

The worst Covid-19 affected country has added 63,371 Novel Coronavirus cases in 24 hours between Thursday and Friday mornings.

The Covid-19 toll has further increased to 1,12,161 with 895 new deaths reported in the same period.

Though the active cases in the country have gone down in the last few days, India is staring at a huge surge in Covid-19 cases as the country is set to enter into the festive season.

West Bengal, which is gearing up for festival Durga Puja the next week, on Thursday reported the biggest single-day spike with 3,270 new infections taking the overall tally to 3,09,417, including 31,984 active cases, 5870 deaths and 2,71,563 discharges.
