India adds over 21,000 Covid-19 cases, 299 deaths in 24 hours

New Delhi/IBNS: Amid the fear over UK Coronavirus strain, India on Thursday added more than 21,000 Covid-19 cases from across 36 states and union territories.

With 21,822 new infections reported in the last 24 hours, the Covid-19 tally has touched 1,02,66,674.

In the same period, 299 people, who were infected with the virus, died apparently due to the contagion.

The Covid-19 toll has now touched 1,48,738.

26,139 people have successfully battled the virus in 24 hours between Wednesday and Thursday mornings as the total number of recoveries has now touched 98,60,280.

The active cases have further fallen to 2,57,656.

The central government on Wednesday took up the applications filed by the Serum Institute of India, Bharat Biotech and Pfizer for the emergency use of Covid-19 vaccine, for consideration.
