Forest guard injured in rhino attack in Kaziranga

Guwahati, May 1 (IBNS): A forest guard was injured after an one horned rhino attacked him in Assam's Kaziranga National Park on Monday. 

According to the reports, the incident took place at Kathanibari forest camp area inside the world heritage site, while the forest guard was engaged in vigil at the area with other forest guards.

The injured forest guard was identified as Sabir Ahmed Laskar and he was engaged at Holalpat forest camp under Kohora range office in the national park.

"When we were engaged vigil at the area, a rhino chased us and attacked Sabir. Witnessing the unfortunate situation we had managed to flee from the area," a forest guard said.

The injured forest guard was immediately rushed to Bokakhat hospital and the doctor referred him to Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for better treatment.

In last year, a forest guard died in rhino attack incident in the national park.
