New Delhi/IBNS: Delhi on Tuesday logged 1,367 new Covid-19 cases, which is up by 13 per cent from yesterday's infections and recorded a positivity rate of 4.50 per cent

The national capital also registered a death due to the virus in this period, according to data shared by the city health department.

Delhi recorded over 1,000 new cases in a single day for the sixth consecutive day.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a virtual meeting with Chief Ministers and stressed the implementation of 'test, track and treat' with the same efficacy as it was done during the earlier Covid waves in the country.

He said it is clear that the "Corona challenge is not fully over" and that states need to be alert on the matter.

"Omicron and its subvariants can create problems as evident in the case of many countries of Europe. The subvariants are causing many surges in many countries. India has been able to deal with the situation better than many countries. Still, in the last two weeks, increasing cases in some of the states show that we need to stay alert," PM Modi said.

With Wednesday's count, the infection tally in the national capital stands at 18,78,458 and the death count has reached 26,170, the bulletin stated.
