COVID-19 in India: Death toll touches 480

New Delhi/IBNS: The Indian Health Ministry of Saturday said the death toll due to COVID-19 in India stood at 480.

With 991 cases reported in the last 24 hours, the number of infected cases now stands at 14,378.

The figure includes 11906 active COVID-19 cases.

1991 people have recovered or have been discharged from hospital.

According to the data released by the Ministry,  Maharashtra, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan topped the chart of states with the highest number of COVID-19 cases.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended the lockdown till May 3.

It was earlier supposed to end on Apr 14.
