Palghar/UNI: Nine Covid patients died on Monday at two different hospitals at Nalla Sopara town of Palghar in Maharashtra, officials said.

Seven patients, including two women, died at one hospital, while two others at another one.

They have reportedly died owing to shortage of oxygen.

Since a large number of people had gathered at these hospitals, policemen were deployed to avert any untoward incident.

Meanwhile, senior BJP leader and former MP Kirit Somaiya claimed that these deaths were not deaths but murder due to the shortage of oxygen.

The state Health Minister should resign forthwith following the incident, he demanded.
