Kolkata/IBNS: CK Birla Hospitals, Kolkata – CMRI & BMB has started dispensing and administering the first dose of Covid-19 vaccines from Jan 25.

The days scheduled for administration of the vaccine, for the first week, are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

A list of healthcare professionals is provided by the government authorities one day prior to the scheduled date of administration of the vaccine in order to enable the hospital to ascertain the availability of the candidate.

Dr. Simmardeep Gill, COO, CK Birla Hospitals, Kolkata has given a re-assurance about the safety protocols in place to dispel any fear or uncertainty regarding the safety of the vaccine.

Dr. Gill said, "We are following all government protocols and mandates. I would encourage all the healthcare workers to come forward and take the shots. It is important to lead by example.

"The vaccines have received approval from the regulatory authority after numerous stages of clinical trials and are perfectly effective and safe for the Covid-19 strain in India. We want to ensure that all doctors are vaccinated and safe so that we can continue to maintain the highest standards of patient care."
