Captain Amarinder Singh names Indus River Dolphin as the 'State Aquatic Animal' of Punjab

Amritsar, Feb 1 (IBNS):  State Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Friday named Indus River Dolphin as the State Aquatic Animal of Punjab.

Singh said his government will do everything needed to conserve this endangered species.

Singh said the dolphin is only found in the Beas river.

"Delighted to declare Indus River Dolphin as the State Aquatic Animal of #Punjab. My government will do everything needed to conserve this endangered species - a rare aquatic mammal found only in the Beas river. #WildlifeConservation,"  Singh tweeted.
