Bengal: Covid cases jump to 2,576 with 115 fresh cases, toll reaches 160

Kolkata/IBNS: With 115 new cases were reported in last 24 hours, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in West Bengal has reached 2576, including 1452 active cases, 160 Covid fatalities, 72 comorbidity deaths and 892 discharges, officials said on Saturday.

West Bengal Home Secretary, Alapan Bandyopadhyay, said that in last 24 hours, seven Covid deaths were confirmed while 63 more patients were discharged after treatment.

Issuing a bulletin on Saturday evening, state health department said that the recovery rate in the state has risen to 34.63 per cent.

The bulletin stated that West Bengal has tested 77288 samples till date, with 7745 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.

Presently, 9667 persons are kept in government quarantine centres across West Bengal while 50258 people are under home surveillance in the state, reports said.
