Azerbaijan reports nearly 500 new COVID-19 cases

Baku/Xinhua: Azerbaijan on Saturday registered 497 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing its total to 27,133, the country's operational headquarters for COVID-19 prevention and control said.

So far, 18,450 people had recovered, including 645 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, according to the headquarters.

Meanwhile, eight people died in the period, raising the death toll to 349.

The headquarters said over 619,700 people had been tested for COVID-19 since the country reported its first case on Feb. 28.
