Shimla, 16 Mar (UNI) Yoga is the need of the hour especially for the youth as it helps to lead a stress-free life. On Saturday, APG Shimla University organized a Yoga camp in university campus, for all students, faculty members and members of administration to give each a feel of all benefits of Yoga.

Dr. Narendra Sharma, the former professor of Yoga studies of Rajasthan University, was the key speaker and demonstrator of the Yoga event. Prof. Narendra addressed the students, teachers and staff members and displayed various ‘asanas’ which encouraged them to know the science of yoga deeply.

“We all know everything, but we do not know ourselves. Only yoga connects human soul with God to know the life-cycles and truth of life which lead to the supreme spiritual resonance,” Prof. Narendra Sharma said. Professor Sharma added that we can avert stress in life through Sahaja Yoga meditation.

“Yoga is the need of our curriculum since inception. Yoga, as an integral part of Hinduism has been practiced in India for centuries as a way of refreshing the mind, body, and spirit.

In recent years, Yoga has also become popular in the West too inspiring increasing millennia people to come and study Yoga in India in a traditional setting,” Vice-Chancellor, Prof. SN Kulkarni said. Dr. Ramesh Chauhan, department of journalism and mass communication, said that Yoga is a union with God and living life in a better way.
