Delta Plus variant case diagnosed in Andhra Pradesh: Health Minister

Vijayawada/UNI: Andhra Pradesh Minister for Health Alla Kalikrishna Srinivas said that a delta plus variant case was diagnosed in Tirupati a few days ago and the patient has recovered.

Talking to the media here on Friday, the minister said that it was the first delta plus variant case in Andhra Pradesh and the patient was successfully treated and he completely recovered.

The minister said that all required steps were being taken to face the delta plus variant and black fungus cases.

Meanwhile, the downtrend in registering new cases of coronavirus continued in Andhra Pradesh as 4,458 new cases were reported in a period of 24 hours while 38 patients died.

A health bulletin here on Friday said that 91,849 swab samples were diagnosed of which 4,458 tested positive for Coronavirus while 38 more patients died taking the total number of Covid deaths to 12,528.

As many as 6,313 patients recovered in a period of 24 hours.

The cumulative tally of Covid cases has spiked to 18,71,475 while 18,11,157 have recovered. So far 2,15,41,485 swab samples have been diagnosed so far in the state.
