5.3 magnitude earthquake hits Manipur, tremors felt in several north-east states

Imphal: An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter Scale hit Manipur on Saturday as tremors were felt in several north-east states, officials said on Saturday.

The earthquake rocked the region at 11.08 pm.

It hit at a depth of 28 km.

The epicentre of the quake was located 30 km west-northwest (WNW) of Bishnupur, Manipur, as per the National Center for Seismology (NCS), Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), Government of India, website.

No damage to property of loss of life has been reported so far.
