Thunderstorm likely to hit East, North-East India in next 24 hours

Pune, Oct 2 (UNI) Thunderstorm, accompanied with lightning, is very likely to occur at isolated places over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttarakhand, north Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, north Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh during next 24 hours, predicted the Indian Meteorological Department in a bulletin here today.

It further said that heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated zones of east Uttar Pradesh, west Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, north-east Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu during the period.


Thunderstorm had occurred at isolated niches of West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, west Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and interior Karnataka during past 24 hours.


Rain or thundershowers had occurred at most quarters of Himachal Pradesh and west Madhya Pradesh during the period.


They had also occurred at many sections of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Gujarat Region and south interior Karnataka during the period.


They had also occurred at a few locales of east Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, east & west Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Saurashtra, Kutch, Telangana, Rayalaseema, north interior Karnataka and Kerala during the period.


Isolated spots in Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Konkan, Goa, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and coastal Karnataka also received the showers during the period.

The South-west Monsoon had been vigorous over west Madhya Pradesh while it was active over Uttarakhand and Gujarat Region during the period.
It was weaker over Odisha, Konkan, Goa, Vidarbha and coastal Andhra Pradesh during the period.
