"SW monsoon rainfall over the country likely to be 87 pct of the LPA"
New Delhi, Aug 12 (IBNS): Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, MoS in Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Space & Atomic Energy Jitendra Singh on Tuesday said the latest estimate suggested that the 2014 southwest monsoon season rainfall over the country as a whole is likely to be 87 percent of the LPA with a model error of 4 percent.
The rainfall over the country as a whole during the second half of the 2014 southwest monsoon season is likely to be 95 percent of PLA with a model error of ±8 percent, said Singh at Ministry of Earth Sciences Headquarters here.
Further elaborating the data the minister said region wise the latest estimate suggest, the 2014 southwest monsoon season rainfall is likely to be 76 percent of LPA over North-west India, 89 percent of LPA over Central India, 87 percent of LPA over South Peninsula and 93 percent of LPA over North-East India with a model error of 8 percent.
