At least 330 die as Hurricane Matthew tears through Haiti
Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Oct 7 (IBNS): The number of people killed in Haiti by Hurricane Matthew, which hit the nation on Thursday, has touched 330, according to The Guardian.
The daily quoted local officials to confirm the toll.
The calamity destroyed more than 3200 homes and displaced around 15000 people.
The daily reported that the efforts to access the worst-hit areas have been hampered by flooding.
US President Barack Obama's official Twitter page read: "Hurricane Matthew is as serious as it gets. Listen to local officials, prepare, take care of each other."
