Earthquake hits Meghalaya, northeastern states

Shillong, May 7 (IBNS): An earthquake measuring 4 on the Richter Scale hit Meghalaya and other northeastern states on Saturday, officials said.

As per the IMD website, the epicentre of the quake, which was located at latitude 25.5 degrees north and longitude 91.9 degrees east, hit East Khasi Hills region in Meghalaya and at a depth of 10 kms.

The IMD called the intensity of the quake as slight'.

The quake occurred at 15:13 pm.

No casualty has been reported so far.
