Brokerage firm Zerodha cofounder Nithin Kamath has revealed on his social media handle that six weeks ago he suffered a mild stroke.

He shared images from his hospital bed and another on his fight to recovery where he could be seen back to his tredmill.

"Around 6 weeks ago, I had a mild stroke out of the blue. Dad passing away, poor sleep, exhaustion, dehydration, and overworking out —any of these could be possible reasons," he posted on X.

"I've gone from having a big droop in the face and not being able to read or write to having a slight droop but being able to read and write more. From being absent-minded to more present-minded. So, 3 to 6 months for full recovery," he said.

Dropping his word of caution to followers as suggested by his doctor, he said: "I wondered why a person who's fit and takes care of himself could be affected. The doctor said you need to know when you need to shift the gears down a bit."

He said he is feeling slightly broken with the developments in his life.

"Slightly broken, but still getting my treadmill count," he said.

After his social media post, several online users wished him speedy recovery.

Journalist Barkha Dutt remarked: "Take good care - the passing of a parent I find is the great impossibility of grief it impacts us in ways seen and unseen . Get well soon."

Industrialist Naveen Jindal wished him quick recovery and wrote: "@Nithin0dha, sending you all my best wishes and positive vibes for a speedy recovery and good health. Take the time you need to rest and take care of yourself. I'm confident that your strength and resilience will see you through this tough time."

Ashneer Grover, renowned for his contributions to the startup sector and former co-founder and MD of BharatPe, posted: "Dude - take care. Most likely you are deeply affected because of passing away of your dad - it got me too after my dad’s demise - I simply collapsed one day. Take a break !"

Wishing him recovery, Biocon chairperson Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw wrote: "Your strength of mind and physical fitness will enable full recovery very soon. My prayers n best wishes. We are all there for you."
