Mumbai/IBNS: Salt-to-steel conglomerate Tata Group's super app named "TataNeu" may still be some months away from commercial launch but group's chairman N Chandrasekaran recently gave a sneak peek of the app to the senior leadership, media reports said.

According to a TOI report, at the onset the group will open up the platform only for use among its 7 lakh employees for the super app pilot study.

The super app is an umbrella with a host of other group apps under it. The report said some of the group apps like Taj, Croma, 1mg, BigBasket have boarded the platform while others like Tanishq, Cliq, Starbucks, Titan are yet to get on to it.

To encourage customers to avail products and services on the single platform, a new loyalty programme will be in place allowing customers to earn points with each purchase and redeem them for future buys.

While the Tata super app covers almost all the needs, ranging from groceries to air tickets, a Bank of America study released in August said India has potential for three to four super apps.
