Tata Curvv, Curvv EV to be launched in India on August 7: Reports

| @indiablooms | Jul 15, 2024, at 10:20 pm

Mumbai/IBNS: Indian multinational automotive company Tata Motors has been actively promoting its upcoming Curvv coupe SUV on its various social media handles.

The vehicle has been spotted testing on the roads on innumerable occasions over the past year.

Tata Motors made its debut as a concept at the 2023 Auto Expo, and unveiled a closer-to-production concept at the Bharat Mobility Expo earlier this year.

The automaker now has officially announced the date when the coupe SUV will make its debut in the fully production-spec avatar.

Tata Motors has confirmed that it will unveil the Coupe— both in the combustion- and battery-powered iterations— on August 7, according to reports.

The Indian leading automaker has shared multiple teasers of the coupe SUV on social media in the past one week.

Here's what we know so far about Tata Curvv:

Exterior design:

As seen from the previous images of the pre-production concept model, the design of Tata Curvv will be in sync with the brand's recent SUV launches like Harrier, Safari, Nexon, and Punch.ev based on the company’s new design philosophy.

According to a report by the Financial Express, up front it will get a sleek LED strip on top and dual-projector LED headlamps inside triangular clusters at the bottom, while from the side, it sports muscular wheel arches.

However, the highlight is the sharply receding roofline, as per reports.

A similar connected LED stripe is likely to be offered at the rear of Tata Curvv, while other highlights include a wide track, a shark fin antenna, and a prominent boot lid spoiler, reports Financial Express.

The latest spy images reveal top shots of the Tata Curvv clearly indicating the presence of a panoramic sunroof.

Interiors & Features:

As previewed in concept images, the SUV’s interior embraces a modern and minimalist approach.

Physical buttons are minimised in favour of touchscreens for a clean look, while a central floating infotainment touchscreen takes centre stage, complemented by a digital instrument cluster and a new two-spoke steering wheel with integrated touch controls, as reported by Financial Express.

As per reports, the Tata Curvv would be loaded with creature comforts, including ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a premium JBL sound system.

The safety of the Tata SUV is addressed with a Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance System) suite, while everyday convenience is enhanced by features like powered ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors), auto-dimming IRVM (Inside Rear View Mirror), a 360-degree surround camera, push-button start, and wireless smartphone charging, according to reports.

Engine & Power:

The Tata Curvv will be offered in both electric and ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) versions, built on Tata’s new Gen 2 EV architecture called the Acti.ev platform.

The ICE or Internal Combustion Engine is a heat engine in which the combustion of a fuel occurs with an oxidizer (usually air) in a combustion chamber that is an integral part of the working fluid flow circuit.

According to sources, the Curvv EV promises a range of 400-500 km on a single charge, with options for both front-wheel drive (single motor) and all-wheel drive (dual motor).

The Tata Curvv will be also available in both petrol and diesel variants.

The SUV will borrow the proven 1.2L turbo-petrol and 1.5L diesel engines from the Tata Nexon, but with more power.

As per reports, the Tata Curvv will be available in 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission), and possibly a 7-speed DCT (Dual or Twin Clutch Transmission) variants.
