Rajnish Kumar appointed as chairman of State Bank of India

New Delhi, Oct 4 (IBNS): The Indian government on Wednesday appointed Rajnish Kumar as the chairman of State Bank of India.

He has been appointed for three years, which will be effective from Oct 7.

Kumar, 59, replaces Arundhati Bhattacharya.

On being appointed to the post, Kumar said, "It is indeed an honour to be entrusted with the leadership of SBI at a time when India is best poised for growth."

"I look forward to serving  the bank to the best of my abilities along with the support of all my colleagues spread across the globe,” he added.
