Bengaluru: At just 17 months old, Ekagrah Rohan Murty — grandson of Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy — has emerged as one of India’s youngest millionaires, media reports said.

The toddler is set to receive ₹3.3 crore from Infosys' final dividend for the financial year ending March 2025, according to a Moneycontrol report.

Born in November 2023 in Bengaluru to Rohan Murty and Aparna Krishnan, Ekagrah is the third grandchild of Narayana Murthy and Rajya Sabha MP Sudha Murty.

His cousins Krishna and Anoushka are the daughters of Akshata Murty and former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

Ekagrah’s early entry into high-value holdings came when, at just four months old, he was gifted 15 lakh Infosys shares by his grandfather — a 0.04% stake valued at ₹240 crore at the time.

With Infosys declaring a ₹22 per share final dividend on April 17, his 15 lakh shares will now fetch him ₹3.3 crore.

This comes on top of ₹7.35 crore earned earlier in interim dividends at ₹49 per share, taking his total FY25 dividend income to ₹10.65 crore.

The record date for the final dividend is May 30, and payments will be made on June 30, Infosys said in its exchange filing.

Other members of the Murthy family are also set for sizable payouts.

Narayana Murthy will earn ₹33.3 crore, Sudha Murty ₹76 crore, and Akshata Murty — who owns a 1.04% stake — is expected to receive ₹85.71 crore.

Founded in 1981 with just ₹10,000, Infosys has grown into a global tech giant.

Sudha Murty, who supported the firm with her savings in its early days, went on to lead the Infosys Foundation for over two decades and is also a nominated member of the Rajya Sabha.
