Kolkata/IBNS: Techno Valves, a manufacturer of high pressure gas cylinder valves, commemorated its golden jubilee anniversary with the launch of a 'Coffee Table Book' by film director Imtiaz Ali alongside the top brass of the company.

The valve manufacturing enterprise was founded in 1971 by Y.K Behani, an IIT Madras graduate, who after careful consideration ventured into the trade of cylindrical valves.

Rohit Behani, partner and CEO at Techno Valves, said, "Techno Valves are designed to meet stringent global specification which has enabled us to be exporters in 50 plus nations which include the U.S and Germany."

On the occasion, Imtiaz Ali said, "We are here today because of one man's success story that started 50 years ago and I envision it will be there for the next 50 years too."

Earlier, Techno Valves projected a turnover of Rs 200 crore by 2024-25.

The valve manufacturer has invested Rs 15 crore in plant and machinery this fiscal year.

The Kolkata based company has plans to grow its production capacity to 1.5 million valves per year from the present manufacturing capacity of 1.2 million valves.

As a part of its expansion plans, the company has recently announced plans to build a 25,000 square feet factory adjacent to its Sodepur facility in Kolkata.
