Key Indian benchmark indices close in negative territory on Friday
Mumbai, Feb 9 (IBNS): Key Indian benchmark indices again slumped on Friday reversing its gains from Thursday largely owing to investor selling in the closing hours of the trade, media reports said.
BSE Sensex was down 44.43 points at 33,307.14 and NSE Nifty was down 15.80 points at 10,226.90.
Top gainers included Tech Mahindra, Bajaj Finance, HDFC, TCS, Infosys, HUL, L&T and Eicher Motors while Tata Steel, Axis Bank, Adani Ports, Yes Bank and Sun Pharma were some of the key stocks that declined.
According to media reports, the GST Council, under the leadership of Union finance minister Arun Jaitley, in its 26th meeting in New Delhi on Saturday, is expected to will finalise a simpler return filing process and give approval for the rollout of e-way or electronic-way bill from April 1.
