JSW Steel's crude steel output at 13.71 lakh tonnes in April 2021

Mumbai/UNI: JSW Steel has said that its Crude Steel production for the month of April was at 13.71 lakh tonnes as against 14.46 lakh tonnes in March and 5.63 lakh tonnes in April 2020.

The crude steel production is down 5 per cent over March this year (MoM), a company release said.

The production of Rolled Products - Flat was down 9 per cent MoM at 9.57 lakh tonnes in April as against 10.50 lakh tonnes in March and 3.44 lakh tonnes in April 2020.

The production of Rolled Products - Long was down 5 per cent MoM at 3.37 lakh tonnes in April as against 3.54 lakh tonnes in March and 0.89 lakh tonnes in April 2020.

The capacity utilisation was lower sequentially in April due to priority in supply of Liquid oxygen for medical purposes over augmenting steel production.

During April, over 20,000 tonnes of liquid oxygen for medical purposes was supplied from the Steel Complexes of the Company, the release added.
