In a recent residential meeting of members from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) held in Srinagar, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha of Jammu and Kashmir praised the organization for its invaluable support in implementing various policies linked to economic development.

Sinha acknowledged the continuous efforts of ICAI in collaborating with government bodies and regulatory entities to propel the country's economic progress, reported The Statesman.

Highlighting India's significant achievement of becoming the fifth largest economy globally, Sinha emphasized the enthusiasm within society to drive progress in socio-economic sectors.

He credited the success to collective endeavors and the fervor to develop every sector comprehensively. Sinha cited the robust growth in GST collections, foreign exchange reserves, private equity, domestic investment, and the momentum gained by schemes under Atma-Nirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India).

Infrastructure development projects were emphasized as key contributors to the new definition and culture of development in various sectors.

Moreover, Lt Governor Sinha underscored the transformative impact of the ongoing development projects led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the perception of Jammu and Kashmir in the international community.

The region has witnessed a positive shift in global perspectives, driven by the progressive initiatives implemented under Modi's leadership.

Overall, the event served as a platform to recognize the ICAI's crucial role in facilitating economic development policies and its commitment to nation-building.
