Gurgaon/IBNS: Indigo, an Indian low-cost airline, signed a large-scale codeshare agreement with the European airline Air France-KLM on Thursday.

The agreement opens up 25 new Indian destinations for Air France and KLM passengers.

Both the European airlines accommodate travelers to four Indian cities- Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore from their hubs in Amsterdam and Paris.

Under the Gurgaon-based airline's fourth codeshare agreement, Indigo passengers will get access to 250 global destinations.

The Indian carrier has similar agreements with Turkish Airlines, American Airlines and Qatar Airways.

A codeshare agreement allows flight carriers involved to sell seats on the other airline's flights under its distribution system.

The cooperation awaits the government's nod and is expected to start from February 2022.
