Indian Rupee advances 19 paise against USD

Mumbai/UNI: The Rupee on Friday was seen stronger by 19 paise to close high at 74.20 against the US Dollar on brisk selling of US Dollar by bankers and exporters, dealers at the Forex Market said.

The local unit that rallied by 42 paise to 73.97 against the greenback in opening trade, went down in late trade but managed.to end strong at 74.20, still up by 19 paise as compared to its previous close.

With this the Rupee has rallied by 54 paise in couple of days.

The Rupee edged up owing to weak Dollar against other world currencies amid positive stock market, dealers added.

The rupee registered intra days high and low at 74.25 and 73.93 respectively, he added.
