Indian Market: Sensex up over 100 pts

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Tuesday recovered by 165 pts to open at 48,881 on fresh buying in Materials, Finance, Health Care and IT stocks.

The Nifty too rose by 53 pts to 14,687.25.

The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 48,996.53 and 48,772.61 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 14,723.40 and 14,580.15 respectively.

The Mid Cap moved up by 0.85 pc and Small Cap by 0.89 pc.

In 30 scrips 16 advanced while 14 declined.

The gainers were ONGC by 2 pc to Rs 109.80, SBI by 2.08 pc to Rs 357.40, Axis Bank by 1.71 pc to Rs 715.05, Bajaj finance by 1.63 pc to Rs 5643.55 and Kotak Bank by 1.47 pc to Rs 1749.65.

The losers were Reliance Industries by 1.14 pc to Rs 1937, Hind Unilever by 0.89 pc to Rs 2385.90, Titan by 0.63 pc to Rs 1414.60 and M& M by 0.60 pc to Rs 748.60.
