Indian Market: Sensex rises 76.49 pts

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Monday gained 74.69 pts at 61,299.52 as buying was seen across the board.

The Nifty too rose 31.95 pts at 18,287.70.

The sensex registered days high and low at 61,360.99 and 61,107.60 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered days high and low at 18,304.45 and 18,228.75 pts respectively.

The Mid Cap advanced 0.32 pc and Small Cap by 0.50 pc.

In 30 scrips, 15 advanced while 15 declined.

The gainers were Maruti Suzuki by 3.13 pc to Rs 8335, SBI by 1.74 pc to Rs 517.10, Bharti Airtel by 1.03 pc to Rs 728.15, Reliance Industries by 0.95 pc to Rs 2562.70, M& M by 0.83 pc to Rs 883.30.

The losers were HCL Technology by 5.79 pc to Rs 1260.15, Dr Reddy's Lab by 1.43 pc to Rs 4621.05, Tata Steel by 1.38 pc to Rs 196.60 and Axis Bank by 1.17 pc to Rs 713.15.
